Research Engineering Intern

As an AI research institute, KInIT develops and maintains multiple software solutions for its research activities and administration (e.g., data scraping infrastructure, computing infrastructure, deployed ML models, experimental user applications). 

We are looking for a research intern to support our team with running our experiments, internal tools, and analyzing data from systems, helping both engineers and researchers move faster.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with operating internal tools and infrastructure (running pipelines, basic troubleshooting, documentation)

• Support researchers with analyzing data collected from internal systems (Python analyses, summarizing the results)
  Contribute to improvements that strengthen our capability to audit social media platform algorithms

• Support development and maintenance of data scraping and processing infrastructure

• Help with execution of research studies

Requirements

• University student (or equivalent) in one of the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence, Data Science

  • Computer Science

  • Software Engineering

• Basic Python programming skills

• Interest and willingness to grow in some of the following areas:

  • Pandas, Jupyter notebooks

  • Git, GitHub workflows

  • Docker basics

  • Web scraping concepts

  • DevOps, cloud basics 

  • LLMs, Machine learning and data science
