Financial Manager – Project funded by the Slovakia Programme (ESIF)

We’re looking for a meticulous and independent Financial Manager to oversee the financial management of a Centre of Excellence development project, funded through the Slovakia Programme (ESIF) as a complementary part of a Horizon Europe Teaming for Excellence initiative.
You’ll become a key member of a unique research institute whose vision is to build an innovating ecosystem in the field of artificial intelligence, grounded in scientific excellence and a strong project team.
Your role will be to ensure the effective and transparent use of financial resources, maintain a sustainable cash flow, and deliver accurate reporting.
Main responsibilities:
Monitor project budget spending and ensure it aligns with the approved financial plan
Plan the schedule and process for submitting payment requests
Prepare and compile payment requests, including all required attachments
Draft monitoring reports and financial overviews
Verify the eligibility of expenditures in line with the rules of the Slovakia Programme and EU legislation
Communicate with the intermediary / managing authority
Collaborate closely with the accounting department, project team, and project partners
Prepare documentation for audits and inspections
Maintain records and archive project documentation according to the provider’s requirements
Requirements
University degree in economics or finance (preferred)
At least 5 years of experience in financial management of ESIF or other grant-funded projects
Strong understanding of expenditure eligibility rules
Knowledge of ITMS2014+ or ITMS2021+ systems is an advantage
Diligent, independent, with strong planning and deadline management skills
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
