Researcher in AI Ethics

The offered salary is from 1.700 € gross. The final offer strongly depends on the seniority and experience of a successful candidate.

We are looking for an expert in AI ethics to join our team focused on ethics and human values in technology. The role involves participating in research projects on the ethical and societal impacts of intelligent technologies as well as their application in practice. We’re seeking a specialist from the humanities or social sciences who cares about building trustworthy AI here in Slovakia.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conducting research activities focused on addressing ethical and societal challenges in the research and development of intelligent technologies

  • Collaboration with partners in both research and industry projects; leading and coordinating project tasks within national and European projects

  • Preparation and facilitation of activities related to ethical design and ethics-based assessment of AI systems (such as expert workshops), both for internal research teams and external partners

  • Writing articles, blog posts, and preparing seminars, podcasts, and other activities that help popularize artificial intelligence and intelligent technologies, with a focus on their ethical and societal impacts

Requirements

  • Research experience (3+ years) in the field of AI ethics, data ethics, ICT ethics, or some other related applied ethics

  • PhD or equivalent doctoral-level education, ideally in a humanities-related field

  • Proficient in English and Slovak (recommended for industry collaborations)

  • Ability to work independently as well as a leader of small team toward planned outcomes

  • Facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with the research and industry partners

  • Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work in applied research

  • Independence and initiative in problem-solving, with a proactive and constructive approach

  • Experience outside academia is warmly welcome
